Adenoidectomy

Patient Information
Adenoids are located at the back of nose and are not needed. They occasionally contribute to ear problems.

After Surgery
It is ok to give the patient some Tylenol or Motrin if there is discomfort.
Children are often fussy until the anesthetic wears off… this may take a few hours.

Expect the child to have bad breath for 7 to 10 days. This is not an infection. It is merely the healing process.

If you have a question about the ears after surgery you can call Dr. Szwarc’s office 229-226-1443 or if it is an emergency call 229-228-2000 and ask that he be paged.

The patient is status post adenoid removal.

Folow-up will be with Dr. Szwarc in approximately two or three weeks. If this is inconvenient, we follow-up appointment can be shifted to a slightly later date.

Tylenol or Motrin can be given for discomfort.
